He gives me wings

Ladies, gentlemen, and various interwebz stalkers, I present to you my (wait for it...) 100th deviation! Because it was Jesus that gave me the artistic abilities I have, guided me in honing them, and showed me ways to use them for His glory...it's only natural that my 100th deviation should be about Him too.

Jesus breaks our chains and sets us free from our own endless desire for more things, more money, and more popularity. He gives our lives a purpose and satisfaction that we can't possibly find in anything of this world.
Isaiah 40:31 - But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

That is what the wings represent. I colored the cross black because that is where all our sins were paid for by the blood of Jesus, and only by repenting and accepting His valiant sacrifice
as our Savior can the sin be washed away. That's the white starburst in the middle of the cross - if you have accepted Jesus as your Savior and repented of your sin, when you stand at the judgement seat of God, He will not see the stains of sin but rather His Son's blood that has washed you white as snow.
